Advice from Prior Attendees: How to Have a Successful PGA Show Experience

  • Allocate enough time to experience the entire Show, or at least parts of interest to you.
  • Allocate plenty of time so you're not rushed, by scheduling appointments ahead of time with exhibitors you currently work with.
  • Allow for a good balance between appointments and walking around. Take advantage of the education opportunities. PGA Show Tip: Upgrade your registration to include PGA Education Conference Sessions »
  • Attend the outdoor Demo Day and walk the show floor in its entirety in order to make the best buying decisions.
  • Be organized and make sure to reach out to any vendors you need to see before arriving in Orlando.
  • Bring business cards, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
  • Come for what you're interested in but take a moment to look at it all; it's amazing!
  • Cut the Show floor into thirds and plan to visit one third each day. Don't be overwhelmed.
  • Definitely make a plan. Try walk the Show floor with a specific purpose in mind. (ie; From 1-3pm looking at teaching aids, from 3-5pm looking for tournament gift items, etc.)
  • Plan your show floor route after determining your specific needs. Once you have successfully visited those vendors, enjoy what other booths have to offer.
  • Don't be afraid to talk to people. Networking is so easy at the show.
  • Don't make too many appointments. There is so much to see, so many people to talk to and so many new things to learn; you don't wan't to miss out because you're in meetings all day.
  • The Show is huge so try not to schedule too many appointments each day. It takes a while to walk around and take it all in.
  • Don't try to do it all in one day. Use Day 1 of the Show to see what is there and plan the final two days based on your needs and what you saw. Remember, networking should be your number one priority.

  • Have a plan but allow for free time to check out new products. PGA Show Tip: Preview over 700 new products before the Show in our online planning tool, My Show. Get a sneak peek here »
  • Scan your badge at booths that interest you so that they are able to send you info after the Show.
  • Book some appointments, attend sessions on the PGA Forum Stage, and schedule time for educational programs but don't forget to leave some time for spontaneous activities.
  • Know what items you're interested in ahead of time and plan which vendors you would like to visit. There is so much to see and you can easily get sidetracked if you don't have a plan.
  • Know what you need and plan accordingly then take some time to study what's new!
  • Determine what your priorities are for the coming season. Plan a schedule around those priorities but leave time available for vendors/ideas that you did not plan for ahead of time.
  • Schedule meeting times with companies based on booth location. Otherwise you can walk yourself to death. Make sure you budget time to check out new items.
  • Either make a plan or go with the flow, but seeing the entire exhibit area is a must. Attend at least two or three educational seminars/demonstrations. PGA Show Tip: Upgrade your registration to include PGA Education Conference Sessions »
  • Make appointments with apparel vendors and review catalogs to select the vendors best suited to your needs.
  • Make sure you know what your goals are and plan your show experience around satisfying those goals.
  • Make sure you take a day to walk the entire floor!
  • Plan which vendors you wish to see and use the exhibit plan to pick a route that prevents backtracking. Don't forget to eat lunch; talking and walking is exhausting.
  • Map out where the vendors are that you want to visit. Wear really comfortable shoes.
  • Plan for what you want to do. There are so many cool things to see, you can begin to feel overwhelmed. Plan out your Show, and that way you can enjoy everything on your list!
  • Plan to see vendors in numerical order so you can hit the aisles efficiently. Decrease the amount of walking.
  • Plan, plan and plan some more. Leave time throughout the day to either take a break, or allow the ability to look at other vendors that may have not made the original itinerary.
  • Plan, plan, plan. If you are with people from the same company, plan to spread out. Attend special parties and events.
  • Schedule appointments and/or seminars but leave some time to explore new things.
  • See your main companies first, then spread out to check for new products and ideas.
  • Take a breath; it can be quite overwhelming the first time you step on the floor. Make sure you have a game plan and don't try to see everything in one day.
  • Take the first Show day to just walk around and take it all in. Make notes of suppliers that you would like to come back to view their lines etc. And take in as many seminars as possible, that are pertinent to your job position.
  • Use the app and the maps. Plan your way around the building, as you will do a ton of walking. Most importantly, enjoy The Show.
  • Use the PGA show app. Don't try to do it all in one day. Plan one day for hard goods, the next day for soft goods, a day for education, and a day just to have fun.
  • It is very important to outline your objectives and then arrange activities and merchandise visits that accomplish your goals. Plan your visit and visit your plan!
  • Visit the new product display area first and then visit individual booths. It is such a timesaver.
  • Walk the complete Show - there is no need to stop - and as you go, note on the Show map what booths you want to go back and see in detail.
  • Walk up and down every aisle; you'll find things you never would have expected!
  • Wear comfortable shoes and do some planning if you want to see everything!
  • Wear comfortable shoes, visit vendors that you carry and try to talk to as many people as you can.
  • Wear comfortable shoes, spend some time on the PGA Show website, and have a show partner with similar goals.
  • My advice for first timers is to wear comfortable shoes, know what vendors you MUST see versus those you WANT to see, and schedule at least 2 days to really get the full Show experience.
  • With so much to see and so many vendors to talk to, you need to lay out your plan by vendor booth number. This will save a lot of time and walking. You must plan ahead.
  • You need to attend the PGA Merchandise Show all three days. Walk the show on the first day, take notes, and return to the locations that interest you after viewing the entire show. The Show is overwhelming but if you know where you are going and have a business plan, you will learn from this valued experience.
  • Use all of the tools at your disposal to make your experience the best possible. Lean on others who have attended to help you manage your time wisely.
